KnowPickens Advertising Policy
KnowPickens is a community website and social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Snap, X (formerly Twitter) and YouTube) featuring information about Pickens County Georgia. Advertising is the primary source of income to support the endeavor to keep the community informed free of charge. The website and social media channels are not part of any government organization but a privately owned small business operating under Elee Inc. Below KP will be used to refer to KnowPickens.
KnowPickens has sole discretion for determining the types of advertising and promotion that will be accepted and displayed on the website and social media channels.
The following FREE ADVERTISING is available to residents and businesses of Pickens County: Event posting on the website calendar; Facebook events added to KP's Facebook events (link must be provided to KP); Business listing on website without links to website/social; Publishing of press releases provided by business/organization that meet publishing guidelines; Business/individual post on KP's Facebook page (appears in Visitor Post area); Tagging KP on social media channels; Posting of lost pets and missing person notices on Facebook.
The following PAID ADVERTISING is offered on KP: Local and national banner ads and video using Google Ad Manager; Direct posting on social media channels using graphics and video; Business listing with links to website and social and top placement in the business category; Event advertising with banner ads and direct post on social media; YouTube videos added to channel and/or playlist on KP's YouTube. Political Advertising - As of October 1, 2019, all political advertising will be noted with 'Paid Advertising', 'Paid Content', or 'Courtesy Post' to ensure transparency and neutral stance of KP. Candidates eligible to be voted on in Pickens County are given ONE free courtesy post for their candidacy announcement on the KnowPickens website during the election cycle.
