1. Department Updates
- Whitestone Road update
- Four fires in Pickens County in February with one fatality
- Pickens Fire and Rescue trying out battery operated extrication equipment
- 550 kids registered for Recreation T-Ball, Baseball and Softball; Opening Day is March 28th at 10 am (players report at 9 am)
- Finance department preparing for audit; testing and field work at county offices the first week of April; draft of audit by mid-May and due to state by June 30th
- Planning Commission meeting on Monday, March 9th; two new officer personal in building department
- Only 5 dogs and 10 cats available for adoption at the Pickens County Animal Shelter
- City of Jasper is wanting the county to handle Animal Control within the city limits
- Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) with Nelson to take over the building inspections but not zoning
