'Grab and Go' Meals Provided FREE of Charge To All Pickens County Children Age 18 and Under

[ March 17, 2020 ] UPDATE 3/17/20 -- Beginning Wednesday, March 18th, we will discontinue pick-ups at Pickens High, Pickens Junior High, and the City of Talking Rock. We will now be driving buses into different areas of the county in an effort to reach more students. We will be adding stops at the following locations (look for the school bus) and remember, children must be present at the stop to receive these free meals. You can pick up meals at any location, regardless of where you live in the county.

Please note, these times are approximate and we suggest arriving 5 minutes early.

(3/12/20) -- The Pickens County School District is pleased to announce that meals will be available for all children in the community age 18 and under.

Although Pickens County School District has a free and reduced lunch rate of approximately 50%, the "Grab and Go" meals are provided FREE of charge to all Pickens County children age 18 and under.

We will be providing meals as specified in the chart. Meals can be picked up between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. In addition to our school locations, meals will be available in the parking lot of IGA in Marble Hill, Hinton Milling, City of Talking Rock (across from City Hall), and Mountainside Manor apartments. There will be a school bus at each of these locations with the meals. As a convenience to families, you may pick-up meals at any location regardless of where you live within the county.

Please note, children must be present to collect the meal. We will provide lunch along with a breakfast meal for the following morning.
