[ September 08, 2020 ] Beautiful, breezy, and busy... in a quiet sort of way. The tents were up and the customers spread out from one end of the market to the other. A very pleasant morning for our Farmers Market.

Gerri Patrick displayed her beautiful paintings of nature and flowers. Patience shows in her paintings because of the tiny details so wonderfully clear in each piece of art. Several pieces are quite small and would fit on your wall in unexpected places, while larger ones would certainly enliven your space. Floyd's Hobby Shop has beautiful cedar boxes, each one unique, with different details or colors on the lids. They make beautiful gifts for your loved ones!

There were two vendors with pears this time and both left early because they sold out. Pear Nut Bread, Impossible Pear Pie, fresh pears with a drizzle of chocolate syrup, or just for plain ol' eating! Be quick next week if you want some pears!

Welcome to some new vendors. Homemade candied pecans were offered by one young family. Happy Greens by Paul Wagner offered organically grown microgreens like sunflower and broccoli. Good to add to a salad or a wrap. They are non GMO and farmed sustainably.

Pie Lady Antonia Guerra offered Key Lime Pie, Coconut Pie, and according to one of her Raving Fans, "..to die for, Blueberry Fried Pie"!

Sunny Side Farms had soup mix in a jar along with their many meats; beef, pork, lamb, goat, and chicken. Get one of their flyers listing all the choices and prices. And while you?re here, it?s time to get those knives sharpened up for holiday cooking. Get your knives sharpened at Y-Not Sharp while you shop the market!

Heavenly Acres Farm offers a variety of goods, while Christi?s Creations offers a variety of sewn goods including Worry Pets! Wonderfully soft and squeezable, they will help take away your cares. Besides bags, towels, and tissue holders, another clever creation are the child size aprons that include the kitchen tools! A really cute gift for your chef-to-be.

All in all, our vendors offer so many wonderful things it?s worth a look-see, so come on down next Saturday to the Park-n-Ride lot at Lee Newton Park to do the market stroll. Don?t forget the great veggies that Zach Henson offers. He really knows his beans-ness!

Oh! Good news! The Farmers Market will continue outside into November and December with new hours, opening at 9 am until close at 1 pm. The market is sponsored by the Pickens County Master Gardeners and open to all who have something home-grown or homemade. Just stop by Jenny?s tent to sign up. She's the market manager extraordinaire!
