PHS Dragons Next Two Football Games Canceled Due to COVID-19 Health Concerns

[ October 21, 2020 ] Out of an abundance of caution and given that a large number of the football team has been in contact with someone who tested positive, the next two football games scheduled for Friday, October 23, 2020 and October 30, 2020, have been canceled based upon health concerns related to COVID-19.

UPDATE: The game that was scheduled to be played on October 23 has been rescheduled for Saturday, November 7 at 5:30 at Dragon Stadium - more info.

This decision is not made lightly and is based upon guidance provided by the PHS Administration team, Director of Health Services for Pickens County School District, Department of Public Health (DPH), and the Georgia High School Association (GHSA).

Efforts will be made to reschedule these games. Senior Night recognition will be rescheduled and a new date will be announced soon. If you purchased game tickets online, we are working on a refund process and will announce that information on Pickens High School social media pages.

Due to privacy laws, specific information, such as the identity of those affected by COVID-19, cannot be released by the Pickens County School System. If you have any questions, please reach out to PHS Athletic Director, Mr. Chris Williams. He can be contacted at 706-253-1800 or via email at chriswilliams@pickenscountyschools.org.
