As of 11/15/2021 the City Council has entered into final negotiations with Ms. Jammes and The City of Jasper for a 2 - year period. Ms. Jammes was selected after a nationwide recruitment and selected by City Staff and the City Council.

Ms. Jammes currently serves as the Assistant Town (City) Manager for the City of Bedford, VA. There were several tremendously strong candidates for this position from within the region and out; however, I am confident that Ms. Sonia Jammes is a wonderful fit for the City of Jasper?s position of City Manager. Ms. Jammes outgoing and approachable personality coupled with the extensive work experience in the areas of management and planning will assist existing staff, Board (present and future) and this community in charting the course for what Jasper has to offer to the citizens and those moving to our enchanting community for years to come; especially in the areas of quality of life, development, recreation and walkability with our trails and parks.
