[ November 10, 2022 ] Such a beautiful day for the Jasper Farmers Market! A cool beginning that warmed up the vendors and customers alike. A light breeze with occasional gusts kept the tents flapping, yet the Autumn colors mixed with the vendors colorful decorations making for a lively market.

Many vendors aimed to please with Autumn, Thanksgiving, and Christmas decor, from wreaths to whimsy, you can find it all at the JFM. The farmers market is an excellent place to do your gift shopping, as well. Jewelry, paintings, knitwear, and quilted items are just a few ideas. Candles, wire sculpture, and even items for the pups in our lives!

It was good to see Karen Reed back with her crochet top kitchen towels. Many themed for the season. If you needed greens and/or eggs there were more than one vendor offering those as well as spaghetti squash and rainbow cherry tomatoes. Steve & Becky sold out of peeled garlic. Jenny, our market manager, brought okra pods for those feeling crafty enough to make ornaments, as well as baby collards, kale and spinach. Of course, the okra pods can be kept for the seeds to plant next year.

We welcome new vendors to give our market a try. Several vendors sell elsewhere but come back to us because those markets are closed now.

New vendor, Heather Tilton, brought her lightweight and colorful polymer clay earrings and hair clips. Stop by to see Jenny and get the information you need to start selling at our market. Our market is sponsored by the Pickens County Master Gardeners.

You will find the market at the Park N Ride parking lot across from the Veterans Memorial just off Hwy 53 at Lee Newton Memorial Park. The market currently opens at 9 am and closes at 1 pm. These hours accommodate the shorter daylight time and cooler temps.
