Jasper Farmers Market Report
A beautiful array of color filled the tent of Nathan and Ansleigh Johnson, Family Grown.

[ May 01, 2023 ] A wonderful, busy Jasper Farmers Market enjoyed the beautiful day with lots of vendors, customers, and happy tail wagging dogs. Bark in the Park was successfully enjoying the day as many pet owners brought their pups which made for a crowded parking lot.(Perhaps a few other pets made the event as well.) Such is the nature of Lee Newton Park. It's a wonderful gathering place for many events throughout the year.

And next Saturday, May 6th will be no exception as the Master Gardeners of Pickens County will be having their annual fundraising plant sale. They will be at the end of the parking lot of the Veterans Memorial Park just across from the Farmers Market. Their sale begins at 8 am, while the market begins at 7:30 am. Both end at 12 pm.

"Not Your Momma's Pepper Jelly!" says SGT Peppers Farm business card. Elizabeth and Trent Henry off Craft Rare Pepper Jelly, Spices, CBD Hemp Bedding, FT. McClucky Mobile Chicken Tractor, and More! (FT may be short for 'featuring' or 'fort'?) You'll have to ask when you stop by for one of their sweet heat jellies.

J & J Farm, Gary & Bunny Johnson, had their tables full of tomato plants ready for your garden plots, raised beds, or containers. In fact there are several vendors offering great veggies for growing in the garden.

Earth Folk really stepped up their veggie plants offerings plus a few herbs and flowers like lemongrass and celosia.

Nick and Ashley Riggin of Riggin Farm offer farm fresh produce and flowers.

Be sure and look around and see all the vendors who have been busy growing plants for good eating!

Of course, that's not all. You will find bakers and makers along with crafters and creators at the Jasper Farmers Market.

Antonia "The Pie Lady" Guerra was back with her specialty fried pies.

Frack N Wood, Rick and Wanda McLean and Judd Berkley of North Georgia Wood-Art were enticing customers with their creative wood creations.

Linnea Twaddle of Linn's Creations offers many colorful bird feeders and birdbaths. She's really for the birds!

Be sure to come shop the Jasper Farmers Market, Saturday mornings, 7:30 am to 12 pm at the Park n Ride parking lot at Lee Newton Park across from the Veterans Memorial Park.

The market is sponsored by the PCMG's. Come shop the Master Gardener Annual Plant sale next Saturday. It is their fundraiser for their community projects and to help the 4H students go to Summer Camp.
