[ May 26, 2023 ] Pickens County Veterans Memorial Park was blessed to be selected by our local Jasper Home Depot store. The Veteran's Park was one of several that were selected by Home Depot to perform community work throughout Pickens County.

The Home Depot is so generous with its time and support for our community. The Veterans Memorial Park concrete foundation was pressure washed by Robin Leonard and Home Depot employees.

You could not ask for a better collection of folks who care about Veterans and the community they serve. The Home Depot works to improve the homes and lives of veterans, constantly improving by giving back to the communities they are proud to call their own.

This beatification of the park will go along with the upkeep of the Veterans Park to continue honoring Veterans.

We are still adding Bricks of Honor at the park. We presently have 957 Bricks of Honor. You can support this veteran's park by donating a Brick of Honor to a veteran. The Brick of Honor is for all regular service members of the military, National Guard, and Reservist. You do not have to be a Pickens County resident.

How do I donate a Brick of Honor?

You will find applications for Bricks of Honor, on our website at www.pickensvetmemorial.com, Contact us at 706.253.0501 or email pickensvetmemorial@gmail.com. Donations are tax-deductible.

UPDATE ON EXPANSION (Phase II) of Veterans Memorial Park.

We have been working on moving the veteran's monument, currently located in front of the Pickens County Courthouse, to the Veterans Memorial Park. This will allow the Veterans Memorial Park to be all-encompassing for honoring all veterans in one location.

There are 55 Pickens County Veterans' names who gave their lives in defense of freedom for Jasper, Pickens, and our country on this monument. The expansion will have etchings in finished black granite monuments of veterans in photo-realistic uniforms of various wars.

We have been raising funds to construct the expansion. We presently have supporters who are doing Pro bono for this endeavor. Unfortunately, we have been delayed in obtaining the Site Plan. Once we have the Site Plan, we will be starting the construction.

We want to personally thank all our supporters who have donated to this cause.

If you wish to donate to this expansion, please send your donations to:
