NATIONAL LIBRARY CARD SIGN UP MONTH
This National Library Card Sign Up Month, begin your journey of discovery by signing up for a SRLS library card! Our library cards are always free for those who live in Cherokee, Pickens, and Gilmer counties. Visit our website or one of our library locations to sign up for a library card today!

SEQUOYAH SPACE EXPLORERS WEEK
Gaze at the stars and dream about Mars during Sequoyah Space Explorers Week! Pickens County Library has multiple space themed programs for all ages to enjoy. First, join us on September 19 at 4:00pm for a Space Sensory Hour, featuring the opportunity to explore multiple senses, including sight, sound, touch, and smell. Next, visit the library on September 20 for a special space themed storytime at 10:30am. Lastly, we have Starry Night Painting for adults on September 22 at 3:30pm! FRIENDS OF PICKENS COUNTY LIBRARY
The Friends of the Pickens County Library have gently used books available for purchase any time the library is open! The board members of Friends of the Pickens Library stock the shelves and collect the case and check from the black box near the book display. You can also pay using your credit card and the QR code. The Friends of the Pickens County Library bookshelf is located inside the Pickens County Library.

Family Storytime
September 6 & 13, 10:30 AM

Join us at the Pickens County Library for Family Storytime with Miss Hannah and Ms. Rachel! We will have a special theme for our story and craft! Be sure to join us for a fun afternoon. No registration required. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Homeschool Meetup
September 7, 10:30 AM

Meet with the local homeschooling community as we get to experiment with a space-related topic! Our monthly Homeschool Meet-Up is a program for homeschool students of all ages with opportunities to learn and interact with other local homeschooling families. Monthly topics are STEM-based. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Farm Bureau Family Storytime
September 14, 3:30 PM

Join us at the Pickens County Library for Family Storytime with Miss Hannah and Ms. Rachel! We will have a special theme for our story and craft! Be sure to join us for a fun afternoon. No registration required. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Strollers and Stories
September 15, 10:30 AM

Attention Caregivers: Join us at Lee Newton Park for a walk and talk, a nature activity, followed by a storytime. No registration required. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Community Health: Opioid and Substance Misuse
September 15, 2:00 PM

The Georgia Department of Public Health will be at the Pickens County Library to present on the current state of our community's health and to provide resources on Opioid and Substance Misuse. This program is for adults. No registration required.

Space Sensory Hour
September 19, 4:00 PM

Join us at the Pickens County Library for a space themed sensory hour! Kids will have the opportunity to explore multiple senses, including sight, sound, touch, and smell! No registration required. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Blast Off Storytime
September 20, 10:30 AM

Join us at the Pickens County Library for a special Family Storytime with Miss Hannah! We will focus on a space theme with stories, songs, and a craft! Be sure to join us for a fun morning. No registration required. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Teens Cook! Cake Pop Edition!
September 21, 6:00 PM

This class is a fun and interactive cooking program designed to teach teenagers how to make delicious cake pops. In this class, students will learn how to select the right ingredients, measure and mix them correctly, and make the dessert to perfection.

Starry Night Painting
September 22, 3:30 PM

Join us for Sequoyah Space Explorers to explore the stars. Let's learn how to paint Vincent Van Gogh's famous Starry Night Painting! Registration is required and will open August 15.

Themed Adult Book Club
September 26, 10:30 AM

Meet us at the Pickens County Library for our Themed Book Club. This month's theme is "Award-Winners". Stop by Pickens County Library or email moores@seqlib.org for helpful discussion questions and more information. This program is for adults. No registration required.

Dungeons and Dragons 5e
