[ April 07, 2024 ] Once a year, Georgia 4-H hosts district project achievement where students research an area, work in that area, and teach others about the area for one calendar year. Then the following year in March, 4-Hers present a prepared speech in that area.

At the 9-12 grade levels (called Senior 4-Hers) if they are ranked first in the district, they advance to the state competition in July. Pickens County 4-H is proud to announce that we have six of our 4-Hers advancing to state. This is more than any other club in our district.

In addition to this, 100% of Pickens County Senior 4-Hers placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in the district. We were recognized at the district level for these amazing achievements.

Congratulations to the following:

Ryan Johnson - Poultry
Molly Hooker - Fruit, Vegetable, and Nuts
Reese Davis - Environmental Science
Micah Newton - Performing Arts Instrumental
Sheila Flores - Housing
Isabelle Gill - Food Fare
