Two Fatalities From House Fire in Jasper

[ May 13, 2024 ] PRESS RELEASE: On the morning of May 13, 2024, at 07:47:57, the City of Jasper Fire Department was dispatched to a residential structure fire with entrapment at 67 Oakmont Dr in Jasper, Georgia, 30143.

Responding units reported witnessing heavy black smoke coming from the area of the incident location. Jasper Fire Department personnel arrived on scene within three minutes at 07:50:34. First arriving units reported heavy fire conditions in a residential structure with two victims confirmed entrapped.

Fire personnel immediately attempted to rescue the trapped victims and suppress the fire, which had already progressed through the structure. The victims were located but had already succumbed to the fire.

The cause of the fire is currently being investigated by the Georgia State Fire Marshal's Office and the Jasper Fire Marshal's Office.
