[ July 18, 2024 ] Wow, the market blew up! The Park N Ride parking lot where the Jasper Farmers Market is held was extra full of vendors and customers alike because not only was it a beautiful Summer day, it was a celebration of the 25th year of the JFM!
Plates full of pulled pork, coleslaw, potato salad, delicious diced tomatoes and sliced fresh juicy peaches from the vendors were offered to everyone! With three Tonys and a pair of Dans it was a full house.
Tony Childers provided the tender pork, Tony Pisconeri provided the potato salad, and it was said that Tony Whitfield of Y-Not Sharp sharpened the knives. The Dans are two of the woodworker vendors; one does cutting boards and crafts and the other does garden craft. Really there could be a few other Dans or Tonys, but definitely there are other woodworkers, bakers, and creators, men and women, dedicated to making the Jasper Farmers Market a success!
The Farmers Market is sponsored by the Pickens County Master Gardeners and they are very thankful for the big turnout and the continuing support of the local residents who make having the market so worthwhile.
If you need fresh produce, bread, jelly, seasonings, desserts, meats, or snacks it's at the market. Gifts, decor, knitwear, jewelry, succulents, macrame, aprons, tshirts, and so much more can be found at the market.

While the celebration was a success, there was sadness for the sudden passing of Cole Johnson on July 6th. He was a regular part of the vendor family along with his father, Clayton, they offered eggs and farm fresh vegetables. He was interred at Sunrise Memorial Gardens July 12th. The Roper Funeral Home picture of Cole was of him sitting on the tailgate at the market. He will be missed. Our condolences to the Johnson Family.
