[ September 05, 2024 ] The Tater Patch Players are set to present "Exit Laughing," a play by Paul Elliot that promises a "wild ride" compared to their usual comedies. This heartwarming and humorous production encourages living life to the fullest.
The story revolves around three bridge club members meeting at Connie Harland's home for their first game without their fourth member, Mary, who has recently passed away. As the evening progresses, they discover that Mary has left behind some surprises, making the night unforgettable.
The cast includes:
★ September Hoeler as Leona, a lively hairdresser.
★ Betsy Robbe as Millie, the group's slightly dimwitted member.
★ Amelia Zerkle as Rachel, Connie's daughter.
★ Gabriel McPherson as Bobby Grayson.
Directed by Phyllis Zerkle, this production is particularly special as it marks her first opportunity to work with her daughter, Amelia, on stage. The show also features contributions from many familiar faces, including Elizabeth Mullis as Assistant Director and Stage Manager, Mary Ann Best as set designer, Eve Sauer as costumer, and Alex and Nan Nawrocki handling lights and sound.
"Exit Laughing" opens on September 13, 2024, with a special Share Night for the Pickens County Food Bank on September 12. The show runs for three weekends (September 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 22, 27, 28, & 29), with performances on Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 pm and Sunday matinees at 2:00 pm.
Note that the play contains some adult content and is recommended for ages 18 and over.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $18 for seniors and can be bought in advance at www.taterpatchplayers.org or on show nights at the theater (95 Philadelphia Lane, Jasper) beginning 1 hour before showtimes.
