FRIENDS of the Pickens County Library
The Friends of the Pickens County Library have gently used books available for purchase any time the library is open! The board members of Friends of the Pickens Library stock the shelves and collect the case and check from the black box near the book display. You can also pay using your credit card and the QR code. The Friends of the Pickens County Library bookshelf is located inside the Pickens County Library.

Tiny Tots & Toddlers

Join us for an enchanting story time experience designed specially for infants, toddlers and their caregivers! Our interactive sessions feature a delightful mix of story songs, playful dances, creative crafts, and fun activities. Our sessions are carefully curated to stimulate their imagination, promote early literacy skills, and encourage social interaction in a warm and welcoming environment.
Family Storytime
January 8, 11:00 AM
Bring the family! This special time is planned for families with children of all ages. This month's theme is bears! There will be storytime, followed by interactive fun with songs and finishing up with a craft! All children must be accompanied by a participating adult.
Farm Bureau Storytime
January 9, 4:00 PM
Join us for a storytime and craft with our friends from the Farm Bureau. No registration required. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Teen D&D Character Creation
January 9, 6:00 PM
Teens! Interested in learning how to play Dungeons & Dragons? Start here at the Pickens County Library with a basic introduction and work on creating your character. Registration required. Questions? Email Cory at struderc@seqlib.org.
Makerspace Monday

Welcome to Maker Monday! Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned DIY-er, Maker Monday is the perfect time to unleash your creativity and make something unique. Choose your supplies from our resources, set up your workspace, and let your imagination run wild. From handmade jewelry to upcycled home decor, the possibilities are endless. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
Baron the Reading Dog

Join us at Pickens County Library to read to Baron the Reading Dog! This program helps with building confidence in reading and for speaking in public. Register for a 15 minute slot to read in a stress-free environment. Time slots run between 4:00-5:30pm. Bring a book or pick one from the library. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Leash Project
January 16, 4:00 PM
Alliance of Therapy Dogs will be here for their Leash Project. There will be hands on learning of how to make a leash. We introduce the dogs and how their safety is important. Then we will show the proper way to use the leash. At the conclusion, these leashes will be presented to a representative from a local organization.
Discovery Storytime

Join us for our Penguin Awareness Storytime Program! Dive into the world of these adorable creatures as we share fascinating penguin stories and learn more about their habits and habitats. Get creative with our hands-on craft activity that will let you create your very own penguin masterpiece to take home.
STEM Creation Station

Future Scientists! Come experience our STEM Creation Station! This month's theme is snow storm. You will be learning science, technology, engineering, and math, all in the same activity! Making fun with learning is the goal!! All children must be accompanied by a participating adult.
Plants and Paints
January 24, 3:00 PM
Join in the fun celebrating Georgia's Native Plants with "Plants and Paints!" The Pickens County Master Gardeners will show you how to plant native seeds to produce Orange Butterfly Plants, Blue Indigo and Coneflower. Then hand craft and paint a "cool" window hanger to warm your winter days. Registration is required.
Read to Rae the Reading Dog
