[ January 21, 2025 ] Rehearsals are underway for the first show of Tater Patch Players' 2025 season. It's another laugh-a-minute comedy with Four Weddings and an Elvis by Nancy Frick.

This story tells of some Las Vegas style love stories... Some a little tacky, some a little fake, and some absolutely wonderful! Betsy Robbe will be directing this comic show, assisted by Jan Simpson. They held auditions recently and are announcing their cast.

Sandy, who owns the wedding chapel is played by Phyllis Zerkle. Sandy has lots and lots of experiences with weddings... And divorces. One of the couples is played by Ellen Painter and Steve Franzen, both of whom have returned to the Tater Patch stage. They are to be married by John, who can change into his "marrying" character at the drop of a cape. He is to be played by Alex Nawrocki, who gave us a hint of his talents as John Curtis in December's Christmas Belles.

Then there are those somewhat faded stars, Vanessa and Bryce, who are played with style by Jan Weston and Jon Hayden. They want you to be dazzled! They will be met at the altar by a very interesting "officiant", Lou, who may find a way to resume the career he really wants.

And then there's the unlikeliest couple of all. Without giving much away, let's just say you'll be meeting Marvin, Fiona and Fist. They'll be played by Tyler Roper, Nick Hull, and Beth Leonard. That's two familiar actors and a new actress to Tater Patch. We just keep having all this talent find us.

And in the final scene there's a big epilogue that will be a secret until you see the show. Mark your calendars an get your tickets soon!

The performance dates are February 21, 22, 23, 28 and March 1, 2, 7, 8 and 9. The Sunday shows are at 2 pm and the others at 7:30 pm at the Tater Patch Players Theater at 95 Philadelphia Lane in Jasper.
