[ January 31, 2025 ] The Boys & Girls Clubs serving Chattooga, Gordon, Murray & Whitfield Counties and The Boys and Girls Club of North Georgia (serving Gilmer and Pickens Counties) have announced their merger effective January 2025. The merger aims to combine strengths, expertise, and resources to enhance community impact and support more youth.
Robbie Slocumb, CEO, expressed enthusiasm about the merger, highlighting that shared overhead costs will allow more resources to be directed toward programs that support youth.
The merger will create an organization serving over 800 children daily across six counties. The new entity, named The Boys & Girls Club of North Georgia, will be governed by the current Board of Directors of Chattooga, Gordon, Murray, and Whitfield clubs, with representatives from Gilmer and Pickens Counties.
Benefits of the merger include:
- Enhanced youth services.
- Cost savings and streamlined processes.
- Increased community engagement.
- Expanded career growth opportunities for staff.
Slocumb assures donors that contributions will continue to benefit their local communities.
