FRIENDS of the Pickens County Library
The Friends of the Pickens County Library have gently used books available for purchase any time the library is open! The board members of Friends of the Pickens Library stock the shelves and collect the case and check from the black box near the book display. You can also pay using your credit card and the QR code. The Friends of the Pickens County Library bookshelf is located inside the Pickens County Library.

Classic Movie Matinee
April 2, 2:00 PM

Teens! Watch a public domain movie and enjoy popcorn and treats at the Pickens County Library. No registration required.

Cross Stitch 101: Corner Bookmarks
April 3, 2:00 PM

Add a spring flare to your next read with a cross stitch bookmark that you made yourself. Learn counted cross stitch and receive the materials necessary to make an adorable bookmark of your very own. All materials provided, registration is required.

Tiny Tots & Toddlers
April 8, 10:00 AM

Join us for story time designed specially for infants, toddlers and their caregivers! This program will feature a mix of stories, songs, dances, crafts, and activities. Our program is planned to stimulate their imagination, promote early literacy skills, and encourage social interaction.

Family Storytime
April 9, 10:30 AM

Bring the family! This special time is planned for families with children of all ages. This month's theme is Dinosaurs. There will be storytime, followed by interactive fun with songs and finishing up with a craft! All children must be accompanied by a participating adult.

The Great Gatsby Gala
April 10, 5:00 PM

Celebrate 100 years of the Great American Novel, The Great Gatsby with a fabulous roaring 20s themed party, fit for Gatsby himself. Enjoy refreshments, a photo booth, and plenty of fun. Costumes are encouraged.

Plants and Paints
April 11, 3:00 PM

Join the Pickens County Master Gardeners for an informative and fun session learning about plants/gardening and creating your own art! Learn about the native Flower of the Month. Registration is required.

Baron the Reading Dog
April 14, 4:00 PM

Join us at Pickens County Library to read to Baron the Reading Dog! This program helps with building confidence in reading and for speaking in public. Register for a 15 minute slot to read in a stress-free environment. Time slots run between 4:00-5:30pm. Bring a book or pick one from the library. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

History and Preservation of the Fox Theater
April 15, 4:00 PM

In conjunction with the Fox in the Box Experience, join us in welcoming Leigh Burns, Director of the Fox Theater Institute. Ms. Burns will be speaking about the ongoing preservation and history of the renowned Fox Theater.

LEGO Lab
April 16, 4:00 PM

Join us for our LEGO Lab! Build what you see in your imagination. Learn new techniques. Then display your creation in our library. No registration required. Children must be accompanied by adult.

Farm Bureau Storytime
April 17, 4:00 PM

Join us for a storytime and craft with our friends from the Farm Bureau. No registration required. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Spring Cleaning: Bee Watering Stations
April 21, 3:00 PM

Help support local pollinators and your garden at the same time with these cute bee watering stations made from recycled materials!

Earth Day Celebration
April 22, 10:00 AM

Celebrate Earth Day with fun craft activities that connect you with the planet! Create popsicle stick planters and grow your own herbs or flowers. Make eco-friendly bird feeders. Let your creativity shine while promoting sustainability and raising awareness about the importance of protecting our planet. Happy Earth Day!

Discovery Storytime

Join us for our story time discovering the theater! We will learn about the theater and how it works. Our hands-on craft that will let you create your very own puppet. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

BINGO with Friends
April 25, 10:00 AM

B-I-N-G-O! All are invited to stop by the Pickens County Library for a fabulous game of BINGO! Winners will receive Bookstore Bucks to our Friends of the Library Book Sale!

Read to Rae
April 28, 4:00 PM

Join us at Pickens County Library to Read to Rae! This program helps with building confidence in reading and for speaking in public.
